Best Buy is selling Super Mario World, Super Mario Advance 2, beginning Wed, Feb. 13 for $22.99. Supposed to be much brighter than SMA.

Hopefully, this will tide me over until Nintendo comes out with Mario Sunshine for the GC late this year (I'm still dumbfounded as to why N didn't get their ducks in order and have this killer app ready for launch - they're suffering in Japan and looks like they're sliding here in the states, too).

Most places (e.g., Target) pricematch with the ad.

I tend to think the aggressive pricing on the new GBA Mario game has a lot to do with the release of Sonic on GBA.

Well, Dan,...in my case, that's probably true too. Especially since I moved away from Wisconsin and have lost out on the wonderful Friday fish fries. The lack of those vitamins must have caused my depravity.

    staying off-topic...

Peter, do you mean to say that Friday fish fries are not popular where you live? That's just wrong.

I know! I grew up thinking it's one of life's basic needs. I guess you don't really learn the value of something until it's gone.

The oddity is that I just moved across the border, from Stevens Point to the Twin Cities. Can you believe it...a geographical line of demarcation, yet whole worlds apart in terms of culture.

Anyway,...just picked up SMW:SMA 2 at Target (pricematched with BB + received 10% discount since my wife's an employee). Brings back a lot of good memories. Be sure to call ahead when buying games on release day - some of the stores didn't have them in stock yet, despite what they claim in their own advertisements.

Andre...I cannot emphasize enough how you need to play the game with headphones. It opens up a whole new world of sound that isn't accurately represented through the tinny, built-speaker. It really adds to the experience.

I've actually forgotten how to play this game. I've only been able to scan through a few minutes, but this is handheld gaming at its best. The controls, the gameplay...I can put my ps2 aside awhile and enjoy all of this mario goodness.

Cannot recommend this game enough. Buy it, let yourself get immersed and it'll bring back all the joy of why you got into gaming in the first place. Rebirth of innocence.

Dan...Stevens Point is not that small, but not that big (~23,000)...do I know you?

If my SNES version hadn't died and the battery run out, I wouldn't consider buying this game. If I am able to get some money, maybe I'll pick it up.
