Finished River of No Return. Good but not great.
Next up The Misfits
So I may just buy don’t Bother to Knock on dvd. I’m having a hard time justifying $40 for the film on blu ray.
Disappointed in the pricing but I understand the business of things too.
Twilight Time run sales a number of times a year when you can save anywhere from $5 to $20 on a title. Newer titles may take between six months to a year to be in a sale, but money can be saved if you're willing to be patient. They have a number of titles on sale now for $15.
I’m still hoping WA announces The Prince and the Showgirl in the upcoming months
Yes please please WB. One of my most wanted BD releases. They should announce it together with Clash by Night. Or they could license it to Criterion (Olivier+Cardiff+Monroe should be enough to make it "Criterion worthy".) I'm very surprised and saddened that Marilyn doesn't seem to be among the most popular classic film stars anymore.
I ended up picking up the Marilyn Monroe diamond collection 2 dvd set. It duplicates a few films that I already have on blu ray, but 3 that I don’t have too. Don’t bother to knock is included so I will not be buying it on blu ray.
Mistake. BD of Don't Bother to Knock is worth the double dip.
Absolutely. It destroys the DVD. No fan should be without it.
Happy birthday Marilyn!!!
The only Marilyn Monroe movie I currently own is the blu-ray release of The Seven Year Itch after I was able to see a 4K DCP presentation of the same film. I just ordered Don't Bother To Knock on Blu-ray and at some point will be adding Some Like It Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Bus Stop and There's No Business Like Show Business. I seriously do not see any of these films getting 4K blu-rays anytime soon!
Seven year itch is a great one. Same with millionaire!
Let’s make love is in a week or so?
Don’t Bother to Knock is being released again on blu ray by shout factory.
I’m trying to confirm if this will be the same transfer as the Twilight Time release.
Does anyone else have more information?
Boy, am I behind! I wasn't aware the TT version had sold out.
I didn’t know this either!!
Are there any 4K transfers available for any of her films?
I heard some are available for a few o the Hitchcock titles but none have been released.
I just went to the Twilight Time page.
Don't Bother to Knock is not sold out and it's on sale for about 25 bucks.
I've had the TT edition for quite some time and, if you'll pardon the pun, its a Knock-out;
with b/w photography by Lucien Ballard.
If, somehow, Shout has something surprisingly better up their sleeve, then I will double-dip;
but, until then, I strongly recommend the TT disc.
In other words, Don't Bother to Wait.
Now if WB would just give us a remastered BD of Prince and the Showgirl.....
