When Universal Pictures unveiled their first film in three-strip Technicolor – Arabian Nights – in 1942, they had a box office hit and a formula for bringing in audiences looking for an escape during WWII. That formula consisted of Jon Hall and Maria Montez involved in some kind of exotic adventure bathed in Technicolor’s famed hues; that formula would be replicated five more times. Kino has licensed three of those pairings and adventures (White Savage, Gypsy Wildcat & Sudan) for their Blu-ray debuts as part of a collection devoted to Montez and Hall.
