Marantz sr8200 problem! Digital singal dropouts! (1 Viewer)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Marantz 8200 has the digital signal dropout problems! I have my Sony DVD (DVP-S530P) and Playstation 2 hooked up via optical cable and it takes about 1 to 2 seconds to lock into the signal. It isn't too bad with CDs, but terrible with DVDs. I lose the sound after the layer change for 2 seconds! Following a DVD menu is just dropout after dropout! Is there a way to fix this? Will going to a Coax cable from an optical help at all?

I used coaxial cable for my DVD player and never had any drop out problems.

Ah crap, and I was leaning strongly towards this receiver too, after hearing there were dropouts on the Onkyo's Dolby Digital. Hopefully this problem can be corrected via a software update, along with the channel level adjust problem too.
