I'm planning on picking up the Marantz sr8200 tonight, but before I do I was hoping to find out if it is lacking any important or semi-important features that other receivers in that price range would also include. The only one I see myself is that I would need an offboard amp to run a seventh speaker for EX/ES. Anything else?

Well, it seems to fully loaded.

The only thing I can think of is DTS 96/24, an new 5.1 standard from DTS that outputs 96Khz instead of the usual 48Khz. No software for that yet, though.

it doesn't have 7 channel amplification, "just" 6.

If you want that, you should have a look at the denon 4802. The denon has ALL the standards currently available, but I don't know how its price compares to the marantz.

I took a look at the Denon 4802 and, while impressive, I liked the sound of the Marantz just a little bit better and the Marantz is about $800-1000 less!
