Having an SR9600 in my main music/home theatre system, I decided to pick up a couple of used Marantz receivers for my living room and bedroom. I have since realized that I simply cannot afford to have these extra toys at this time. I've listened to both, and they are great, but I am in desparate need of cash at the moment.
Asking prices (I will convert whatever you offer. If I were to put USD prices and the dollar fluctuates...well, it's simpler for me this way..):
SR8001 $800 CDN
SR5002 $400 CDN
RC2001 $70 CDN (Brand new un-used remote control)
VC6001 $350 CDN
I don't want to sell this stuff, but I have no choice. I got greedy and I can't carry all this stuff. I will keep my SR9600 and enjoy it. The SR 8001 sounds very much like the 9600. The 5002 has a similar clean Marantz sound but obviously lacks the power of the larger receivers. Both the SR8001 and SR5002 will accept a 7.1 signal over HDMI. So, if you are like me and have a Blu-Ray player like a Sony S550 or PS3 or another Blu-Ray player which can decode a 7.1 HD soundtrack and output over HDMI, you will get the full 7.1 HD audio over PCM through HDMI cable to your receiver.
The VC6001 is a universal 5 disc dvd changer with Faroudja de-interlacing and upscaling to 1080p over HDMI. Plays DVD's, CD's, CDRW, MP3, DVD-Audio & DVD-Video, SACD and can play all region dvd's and output in both PAL and/or NTSC. Very handy unit. I bought two and I'm keeping one for myself for use with my SR9600. I am willing to sell one of them.
For locals, the SR8001 is hooked up and can be heard immediately, as it is sitting in for my 9600 while that receiver is getting a firmware upgrade. The SR5002 can also be heard, but I'd like to know ahead of time so I can set it up in advance.
