Marantz 8200 & 7.1 setup question (1 Viewer)

Hello,

If I want to build a 7.1 setup with my Marantz SR-8200, do I need 1 or 2 monoblock(s) to drive the back speakers?

I guess the concept of monoblocks is not that clear for me...

To do 7.1 you will need a two channel amp or two monoblocks. Monoblock = one (mono) separate channel of amplification. You would split the rear channel analog output to the two amps. Using one monoblock will be little different from using the internal 6th amp.
