It's been a very long time since I last watched this film - I saw it when it first came out - but I don't remember Paula Prentiss irritating me at all. I remember thinking she was a good comedy actress. I'll have to buy this disc just to recheck!
While Paula did see a brief interruption of her work while recovering from a breakdown, I believe you may be thinking of her sister, Ann, whose career did suffer drastically for similar reasons.
Somehow I missed John's comment about the quality of this disc. Thanks Robin for bumping the thread as this is a favorite film of mine, and like Alan, assumed this was a typical Universal abomination, like FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS, which I was forced to return.I watched Man's Favorite Sport? tonight on a 106" projection screen.. The transfer and Blu-ray are outstanding. This has the clean 1960s Technicolor look with simply beautiful contrast and color. Excellent depth to the picture as well. Universal hit this one out of the park and onto the street behind.
