I have two 120 GB hard drives for music. The first drive contains the "My Documents" folder as well as the "My Music" folder. This drive is now full.

I have installed the second 120 GB drive and am wondering what the best way to manage this music collection over 2 drives.

How should I split my collection? At this point I've done it alphabetically (A through O on one drive and P through Z on the other). This works well but I have to open two separate folders to view all the music on my PC.

Is there any way to tell windows the "My Music" folder is continued elsewhere? It would be great if Windows knew that all artists whose name starts with A through O go on drive 1 and P through Z go on drive 2. That would be very nice.

Is there software (or hidden windows settings) that will allow something like this?

use a player that can maintain a music library. Then it doesn't matter where the music is. I like Zinf

Now might be a good time to start thinking about how you're going to back all that music up. I've had to re-rip all my music three times (~400 albums) because of hard failure or bonehead mistakes on my part.
