"Making Signs" camcorder question (1 Viewer)

During watching the wonderful documentary "Making Signs" during the part where they showed Mr. M. Night himself filming the brazilian birthday where we see the alien come out of the bushes,
what camcorder was he using. It looked pretty dang good for a consumer camcorder. I think it looked like a JVC but I'm not sure. Anyone know?
