Magnolia slides another movie past with no notification. I loved this film, so just ordered it from Amazon.

I knew this would be coming out because it's part of the package of five free Blu-rays that Magnolia/HDNet/Landmark Cinemas/Samsung is offering, but they are being pretty quiet about things.

I have ordered this film. As the change in format seems to be at the request of the film maker, I can overlook the change.

The aspect ratio was changed to 1.78:1 for the SD-DVD as well.

Surprising Dolby True HD track on the HD version. I wonder if BR got the PCM track equivalent or not?

It's not the first time Donaldson's done this. He did the same thing with The Recruit in its DVD release, and it was loudly trumpeted on the back cover.

This film is an absolute gem.

Caught this on HDnet last month and loved it.

Now, the film apparently was a labor of love for Donaldson. He's a Kiwi and Munro is a legend there. I can't imagine the AR would get changed without his OK on this one.

I liked it at 2.35, but I'm going to give it a chance since I couldn't resist buying the Blu-Ray.
