Magnepans and Onkyo Receiver (1 Viewer)

Do you guys thinks I could use an Onkyo receiver with this speaker ? I am thinking about buying the magnepan MMG w and MMG C. Here are the specs of the receiver.

A wonderful speaker that does many things right with the main shortcomings to my mind being that they don't go very far down in the bass which might make integrating a sub a little problematic. If like other maggies, the loads are largely resistive (a good thing), that is a fairly constant 4 ohms but drops to around 3 or so in the upper frequency ranges. Further the efficiency is a relatively low 86 dB.
I think your receiver will be sorely taxed in driving these to any reasonable levels without distress. You should be looking for a continuous power rating into 4 ohms of greater than 100 watts IMO which would suggest a far more substantial receiver or outboard amps.
