Any thoughts on the R2 (Japanese) version of Road Warrior and Thunderdome? I need these on DVD, and am not sure about the video and adio quality of the US release...any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Jim

While I don't have the Japanese editions myself ( I've got the European region 2 versions ) I imagine they're the same as the US versions since WB distributed them worldwide. That said, from my experience with buying WB discs from Japan, they probably come in sturdy keep cases.

If you can play PAL discs, I recommend the r4 version of Mad Max, it has a full bitrate DTS track.

Yes, it's the "real" Australian sound track.

The Japanese release of Mad Max 1 list three audio options: Japanese, Original, and Australian [IMG]
Oh and by the way, the video and audio on Road Warrior and Thunderdome is just fine. Both are 2.35:1 anamorphic Widescreen have good transfers and have DD5.1 audio - and as someone else mentioned, no snappers.
