Well, now that Apple announced a 17" widescreen 1440x960 display for the iLamp, in addition to the 15.2" WXGA (IIRC) resolution Powerbook display as well as the 23" HD Cinema display, do you think the HTF should adopt Apple computers as the poster child for widescreen? :D
Personally i think widescreen displays are good because i work in Photoshop and Flash, and need a lot of horizontal space for the palettes. Of course, 1600x1200 (Dell Ultrasharp) > 1536x768, but still... Its a step forward.
I give Apple a :emoji_thumbsup: for this!

Yep, the new 17" iMac features a 16:10 aspect ratio LCD display. Reports from MWNY are that Apple is going to drop the 15" LCD Studio Display and replace it with a 17" 16:10 LCD Studio Display priced several hundred less than the current 17".

On a related note, ATI has stated that upcoming Power Macs will feature Radeon 9000 and 9700 video cards. Anandtech claims that the new Radeon 9700 is up to 250% faster than the Geforce4 Titanium used in Macs...
