I am trying to hook up my mac mini to my Pioneer PDP5045 media center. I am trying to hook it up through component video Input 4. I purchased a DVI to Component adapter and hooked the component cable up to Input 4. However, the screen stays black.

I was worried that the resolution was not supported so I downloaded DisplayConfigX and added the Plasma's display to the Mac Mini. Still I receive nothing.

In fact, now when I try to hook the PC to the VGA connector, the startup screen is seen then turns black.

I also tried to hook up optical audio to the system with an optical tosling hook up and got nothing.

I need help. Does anyone have any advice?

I figured out that I need to have my mac mini set to 800X600 60hz. However, I could never get it to work by using DisplayconfigX. Horrible program! I just reformatted my mini with the restore disks.

After that everything worked with the VGA set up. My optical setup worked also after reformatting.

    Good Luck. Everything is awesome!
