I have an opportunity to purchase a set of B&W as well as a set of M&K speakers. I am very familiar with B&K but know nothing of M&K as a company/speaker maker. Can anyone please let me know how M&K compares to B&W as far as buily quality, reputation as a good speaker company, and anything related to sound quality per your experience. Thank you.

M&K specializes in THX type configurations. B&W has abandoned THX.

M&K will tend to give you a narrower sweet spot, with probably better imaging within that smaller sweet spot. M&K will be brighter and B&W warmer.

Both are expensive for what you get.

M&K might have the edge for HT. B&W might get the nod for music.

People who own these brands tend to adore them.

M&K are well built but perhaps a bit utilitarian looking. B&W tend to be a bit more sumptuous looking.
