From Comics Continuum....
Dear God, I hope this is true... The small contingent of fans for this film have been teased too many times by the rumor of a 2-disc set and whether or not Fox had canceled it in favor of a 1-discer. Hopefully either a) someone has the totally true scoop on this or b) the X2 dvd will have the definitive answer.
I'm crossing my fingers on this one!
I'm waiting to be impressed.
I'd be surprised if they did a Two disc set after the way it did at the box office, but stranger things have happened. I never did make it to the theater to see it, so I'm looking forward to trying this one.
But, honestly, from those specs, it doesn't seem like that great a special edition. Maybe the "and more" at the end will be something good, but it usually isn't.
I don't know, a lot of times studios will really dress up the extras on a picture that bombed at the box office in order to generate some interest; a barebones LXG probably wouldn't do so hot but a full-blown 2 disc SE might do better. It's a way to try to recoup some of the investment.
Either way, I have yet to see this movie so it'll be a blind purchase. DTS would be a bonus, it's been awhile since I've bought a disk with it. I'll be buying X2 blindly as well and the $3 coupon is a plus.
I really quite enjoyed this film. I realize it was critically reviled and ignored at the theaters, but I found it to be a lot of fun.
Kudos to Fox if they give the film respect on DVD.
The League is definitely being released on ONE DISC. Also NO dts.
This comes direct from one of the producers.
The director very much wanted to put together a 2 disc directors cut, but FOX nixed it. Too bad. An unfairly much maligned film imo. Much better than you have heard. See for yourself.
Fullscreen gets gold packaging, huh? Why I oughta....
I thought this was confirmed as a two-disc a while ago. I'm still buying it though.
I missed this in theaters, but I'd pick up a 2-discer with dts. Probably would pass on the one-disc.
I doubt it will have DTS in region 01.
For those wanting DTS sound you can pick it up in region 02 with DTS early next year.
Looks like the D-VHS will have DTS.
