The local news has just reported that famous R&B singer Luther Vandross has passed away. They didn't have any further information.

And Cnn.com has just confirmed what I heard on the local news.

RIP Luther Vandross

I just heard! I am in shock, I can't believe it. Sad, sad, sad. I was just asking a friend of mine this week if he had heard how he was doing.

Luther may you rest in peace and may you "Dance with your Father"

Can't say I own any of his music but certainly respected/admired his talent and wished the best for him in his health struggles over the years. Rest in peace.

I don't even know what to write here but just sum it to say that I was saddened to hear of Luther's passing. While I may have missed some of his recent albums his old ones with features like "Superstar" and "A House Is Not A Home" are simply classics. I just love his older work.

We had a legend like Barry White pass away last year i believe and now Luther. I wonder who will step up to the plate to carry this genre.

I lost my mom to cancer in Feb 04 and Luther Vandross was one of her favorite singers. His passing makes me sad much more because of that. :frowning::frowning:

That man had one hell of a voice! :frowning:

RIP, Luther. :frowning:
