Loud pop from center speaker -- why? Cause damage? (1 Viewer)

Hi,
Every so often my center speaker (Paradigm Studio Ref CC) makes an extremely loud pop for no apparent reason. It has only happened when I have been watching TV -- never with a DVD. Does anyone know why this happens? Also, can it cause damage to the speaker? I am not sure if I imagining this but, it sounds like the sound is off since the last pop (tonight).

A few background facts -- it has onlyhappened about 3 or 4 times altogether and the sound is never that loud (not even near fer level).

sounds like your receiver is having problems. i would be wary of a situation like that. might want to try and get the receiver repaired or checked for problems.
