I picked up a 60" Mitsubishi projection screen TV a while back (VS-6041). It was a lightning strike victim which somebody threw out, I repaired it but didn't get a remote with it.

It's served me well for a couple years, and it's been pretty nice having the big screen, using a universal remote.

Well, one of my buddies messed around with the remote and managed to put the TV in "home theatre mode," so now I can't watch cable, DVDs, nothing. It says to take it out of that mode to press "cancel".

Well guess what I don't have a cancel button, I've gone through five or six different universal remotes trying to get it out of that mode, unplugged it for a couple days in the hopes that it would reset but no luck.

Contacted Mitsubishi, $130 for a replacement remote control... And all I need to do is press one button, one time.

For 130, don't bother with the replacement. Get yourself a Harmony remote. There are a few that can be had for less than that price. Mine was 65$ off ebay. Worth every penny!

Have you checked Ebay for the mitsubishi remote? Theres hundreds on there, and all of them would be a fraction of the cost anywhere else.

worth a try,

Thanks for the information on the remotes, but I'm looking for away to get the "On Screen Display" up. Some TV's you can push the channel and volume buttons at the same time to bring up the "On Screen Display". I was hoping someone could tell me the trick to which buttons would bring up the "On Screen Display". Thanks again for your help.
