DVDAnswers.com is reporting that Fox has officially announced Lost in Space-Season 3, Vol. 1 for release on March 1, 2005. Very few other details are available at this time.
Mine too Joe! The space suits looked the best and most colorful, they used the Space Pod, and the stories (while there still were some clunkers) were much better and more exciting than season 2. I can't wait for season 3 to come out!
I'm glad to see the series get released in its entirety. Season 3 was a welcome departure in getting away from static, planet-bound adventures week after week, but I remain in the group that doesn't care for the third season theme music. The original is still the best!
Wow! Eric, you have to be in the minority here. As good as the music for season 1 and 2 was, to me there was nothing like that awesome 3rd season music. To me it was like the first 2 season theme songs sounded like popcorn fluff...the third season music sounded like high adventure and excitement. Anyway, whether I agree with you on the music or not, I do agree that it'll be great to own all 3 seasons on DVD after waiting so long!
7....6....5....4....3....2....1....I love season 3's theme music.
Although I must admit I was a little dissappointed with the interviews on the second season box as I had assumed them to be from television, but still very thrilled to hear them none the less.
According to TVShowsOnDVD.com they will only contain the "next time on Lost in Space" preview trailers for the first 8 episodes in the set (at least for volume 1). If true, that is somewhat disappointing, as I recall the Columbia releases having all of those.
only the first 8?? Thats very retarded we need them all! I love those "next time on......" Surely this cant be true!! For a series set thats already light on extras this is a foolish move.
I hope I turn out to be wrong. I got the info from Fox's password-protected press site. The press site, administered by a subcontracted marketing company, often contains mistakes or omits info. Note in my Lone Gunmen news I discussed how the list was cut-off. I also saw the same sort of thing on Reba's listing among others. I hope this turns out to be another web-posting problem rather than the trailers actually being left off of the DVDs.
However, right now I can only pass on what Fox's duly authorized promoters are giving me to pass on. :frowning:
I really don't see what's so horrible about splitting them up into two parts if they commit to releasing the second half of the season. They're still giving us 4 full discs with about 12 hours of programming and aren't resorting to the problematic DVD-18s. If they were regressing to individual discs or something, that would be another thing entirely.
I asked Kevin Burns today why only 8 teasers and he acted in surprise. Baffled because he supplied FOX with ALL the Season 3 Teasers for the DVD's. Not including them all made no sense to him.
Hopefully this is just a miscommunication and in reality we'll see all the "Next Week" teasers included on the dvd's.
He also hinted at more Bonus Features in the second volume release on Season 3.
