Lost in Space 2 on Netflix (1 Viewer)

Another question which I do not believe is a spoiler. Since an alien robot (crash)landed on earth to start this whole thing off, what was the motivation for the Robots to come to earth? I am operating under the assumption that the ensuing antipathy towards humans was caused by humans stealing their engine. Whey did they come here in the first place.

For me this Lost In Space [LIS] series is tailor made for Netflix. I haven't had time to watch it just yet but I am anticipating having that time soon.

Some things to consider...

1. Will these LIS episodes contain commercials? "No."
2. Do I have to wait a week between episodes? "No"
3. Do I have to buy a disc for something I may only view once? "No"
4. Do I have to pay extra [over my normal Netflix subscription which includes a lot more content] to watch season 2 of LIS? "Nope."

While [sadly] I do think Netflix is on a collision course with disaster in the long run, I'm enjoying some of the content they provide today.

• Lost in Space has been renewed by Netflix for a third season, in which The Robinson Family’s epic space journey towards Alpha Centauri will conclude. Netflix confirmed the news on social media here.
  Additionally, Netflix and Lost in Space Executive Producer/ showrunner Zack Estrin have agreed to enter a multi-year overall deal to produce new series exclusively at Netflix.
• Estrin says, “From the beginning, we've always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It's also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission -- it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith... and The Robot. Less episodes in this than in S1 of her original.

I'm just glad we're getting an ending, rather than having it be cancelled abruptly like so many shows.

The press release did leave room for them to tell further stories with the Robinson family, just not this story and not for a while.
