I just got a new PC and am in the process of setting it up.
I have all of my mp3s on an external hard drive, so there's no need to transfer files. But when I plug the drive into the new computer, it's not reading any of the tag data I have in any of the MP3s. Whenever I try to pull the files into Windows Media Player or Groove Music, it just dumps everything into one "Unknown Album". Windows Explorer doesn't show the data either, even if I pull up Properties on one specific file. But, if I put the drive back on my old computer, the tag data is showing up.
The data is obviously there somewhere, as I can still see it on the old computer. But why won't the new computer read it?
