It hurts if you want to watch this ,you have to go buy a Blue Ray
because thats the only R1 version which is 2.40:1

I believe Lionsgate quietly fixed this. I think they just covered the part where they tell you of the "DVD SCREEN FORMAT" with a new sticker stating 2.40:1 (thanks for the reminder - I still have to get mine switched).

Yes. It's been covered in the review thread, I believe.

Yes, there's a corrected version out there. But still apparently not available in Canada (no prob, we have to light a fire to start our TV's anyway) nor available *guaranteed* from amazon.com. If it's not a stickered version, do not buy!

I politely sent Lion's Gate customer servive an e-mail months ago when word of the corrected discs first surfaced. I requested information on getting them to replace my DVD with the corrected one. They never bothered to reply.

I'm also in Canada and have not seen any fixed copies anywhere. I bought the existing release previously viewed, and only after the fact did I learn about the AR. I really hope fixed versions make their way here eventually.

There's already a 5-6 page thread somewhere specifically about this.
