Actually, so far I think LOTR has far more references (whether they're intentional or not doesn't matter) to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I've laughed at supposedly serious moments in FOTR and TTT because they remind me of moments in that Python masterpiece, right down to Howard Shore's bombastic music which goes from inspiring to dreadful from scene to scene. And the first time Gandalf said "RUN!" when the Balrog showed up, I almost fell out of my chair in the theater because he sounded exactly like Graham Chapman yelling "RUN AWAY!!!"Thank you!I can now never watch these movies without thinking about those scenes! You have now forever ruined The Lord of the Rings Trilogy for me!
