Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Incompatible? (1 Viewer)

I bought the Looney Tunes Golden Collection today and found, to my astonishment, that my DVD player wouldn't play any of the four discs, rejecting each one as "incompatible." It's an RCA player that so far has played everything I put in it (DVD and audio) with no problems. I brought it back to the store and they played disc 1 in their player; while it took a couple of seconds longer than usual to load, it did load and play with no problems.

Anyone else having this problem with the set? And any suggestions on what I might be able to do? Or should I just assume that something in the encoding is incompatible with my player, and that I should give up on the set until I get a new player?
