looking to get a 1080p LCD, what are my choices? (1 Viewer)

I would prefer the TV to be in the 30-37 inch range. Price isn't really a concern. From what I've seen, there are only 2 available right now. What else is coming out that I should look for?

Hmm Westinghouse of all people are supposed to be comming out with their larger 1080P LCD displays in late summer this year. I think you can get the 37" right now.

Sharp, Panasonic, and others should have them available this year as well.

Hard to say what sort of pricing we are going to be looking at though.

Home Theater Magazine recently rated a Sharp 1080p display rather favorably, although they weren't real thrilled with the black levels, as you'd expect with LCD.

Sharp Aquos & Westinghouse are it for now. The BenQ 37" at Crutchfield should be out soon.

I feel like I'm reading about Sony possibly cominng out by year's end with 1080p ready LCD's of some kind.

RUMOR has it that they may bring the SXRD LCOS Qualia technology down to smaller sets to be the new XBR line, but that may not happen until sometime in 2006.
