Mike, welcome to the Forum. I have the Denon DCM-370, and it is an excellent player for $250-300. It has always impressed me with a warm sound for an inexpensive player.

I was in the same boat at Xmas time. I am a huge Denon fan but I ended up getting the Sony CA77ES at Tweeter for 300.00. I have absolutely NO regrets either. I found the build quality to be excellent, a gorgeous piece to look at and better overall features. I would do some research on it and make your own desicion.

Mike, I assume you mean the Sony CDP-CA70ES, not 'CA77ES. I haven't heard this player, though I have seen it at Tweeter. It is a nice player for the price in terms of build quality and features. I do have two 'CA80ES units and can attest to the quality of Sony's ES carousel changers.
