I'm looking at new receivers, just to see what I can get.
I'd like to stay around $1000.
    I want:
    DTS
    DTS-ES
Component input (at least 2) (for my DVD, possibly HDTV Later)

I'd like to get 7.1 if possible, if not, then 6.1

Right now, I'm looking at the
    Denon AVR-3803

    Any others you recommend?

    Thanks.

Sony 4ES. Spend the cash you save on DVDs.

You can't go wrong with the Denon. The upconversion is nice and it works well in my system. I was torn between the rotel 1055 and the Denon when I went through it and ended up with the Denon with no remorse
    cheers

    Onkyo SR800
    Pionner Elite 45TX
    Yamaha RX 3300

Every people have different preferences, try to audition as much as possible, and if you can with the speakers you have or will buy.
