I was told to save the money on a LCD monitor... if you want good graphics at a good price find yourself a 20" HDTV to substitute as your monitor for a computer.

    Anyone have any advice?

I dont know how good it would be as a computer monitor, but Samsung recently lowered the price on their 27" HDTV-ready from $799 to $699. My sis-in-law recently got one, and even though it's 4:3 ratio, it has a very nice HD picture, and looks very good with a progressive scan DVD player.
If you want a good price on a 30" 16:9 HDTV, Samsung has it priced at $999. Also same price for the 32" 4:3 HDTV.

I don't know who told you that, but it sounds like they don't know what they are talking about. You can get a high quality 19-21" monitor for
