A week ago I bought a Toshiba 34HF81C and a SD3750 DVD player.
Initially I was very impressed and happy with the unit but yesterday I noticed that when the picture is in "Theater wide mode 1" there is a band across the center of the picture that looks like the two parts of the interlaced image are misaligned horizontaly. Vertical lines have a comb-like edge to them. The problem is there no matter which input is selected and even distorts the on-screen menus. The other picture modes are clear.
Two other problems are curved edges on the grey bars at the sides of the screen when in 4:3 mode and the reds seem awful pink to my eye.
Does anyone have any advice to offer? Are these minor problems or would I be better off to start with a new unit? I think I'll get it serviced under warranty first but I'm very disappointed and am considering returning the TV before my 30 day refund guarantee runs out.
