A quick addendum to the DLP-post above; the new batch of DLP's coming out now with Sharp probably first with their 9000-model will have a 16:9 DLP-panel, much improved black levels and no rainbow due to a much faster color wheel.
DWIN also has a new one, Transvision 2, based on this new technology.
Personally I'll be buying either a CRT setup or one of these new DLP's. The Sharp should be available at $8000 or below on the street, making it a compelling choice if you want your projector to be a bit more plug and play.
I saw some screenshots on AVSForum (go there and search in the DLP/LCD area once they are back up) that looked fabulous. Then again screenshots only tell you so much.
