Yes, get paid to watch DVD's...
We're looking for people interested in working full or part time as DVD testers. The job would include watching DVD's, and navigating the menus. We schedule days, evenings or weekends, with lots of flexibility.
All testing is done at our facility in the North Hollywood/ Van Nuys/ Northridge area of Los Angeles, so you must be within driving distance.
This is a great job for any forum members wishing to supplement their income.
It's major (and minor) studio films; no porn :b .
Applicants should:
  • like DVD's, movies and home theater.
  • know their way around a DVD remote.
  • have a reasonable eye (and ear) for video and audio quality.
If you're interested, please email me at: [email protected]
And if you know someone in the Los Angeles area who might be interested, please pass this notice along.
Thanks!

I wish i was in the LA area. This would be cool to do!!! Get paid for doing something I would be doing any way!!!

If you ever decide that you are able to ship the disc to be viewed and tested, I am in!!!

Be sure and familiarize yourself with Edge Enhancement/ringing artifacts before giving 5-star marks to transfers like The Phantom Menace ;)

This sort of thing SOUNDS fun, but once you've tried it you'll realize that QC isn't all that it's cracked up to be...

Andy Kent from ADV? If so pass along to the folks who worked on the Andromeda disc WELL DONE!

You're right, QC can suck sometimes. Watching the same thing over and over again to make sure it's right. It would be hard to sit down and watch a movie after doing it all day at work. Part time might not be bad though, alas I'm nowhere near LA.

If you guys hired part time / night hours I would totally be all over this. Unfortunately I've got an 8 to 5'er that isn't exactly my dream job, but it probably pays more than what would be offered for this one. I would be interested in doing this 2-3 nights a week or weekends, though. (I'm in West Los Angeles) :)

Hey Carlo (and anyone else),
Be sure to send me an email! We need evening/ weekend workers as well. :emoji_thumbsup:
And for those not local: While we don't pay relocation expenses per se, I will treat you to lunch at Taco Bell once you make it out here. :)

Like Andy said, we are practically neighbours, just an ocean that is keeping us apart.
No relocation that is a bummer indeed, so how about me & Andy become your European agents and set up shop here.

Marty, if you decide to dip your toes into region 2 QC, looks like you've got your bases covered.

For people living in my area (West Monroe, LA where "if Wal-Mart or Sam's ain't got it, you ain't got no business buying it") a snowball will have a better chance in hell than we would of having something like this.

I'd love to do it though.
