Hi, I'm kind of new here, been reading for long time but just became an official member [IMG].

I want to do basic home-thearter setup mainly for playing game online. I'm looking for kind of cheap receiver. It has to be DPII (dolby prologic II) and if possible with s-video and component input. The one in my mind is JVC RX-6030VBK so that it goes along with my JVC AV27FA44.

If anyone who upgrade their system and have what I'm looking for, please drop me a PM or e-mail me. thanks. I'd prefer local pick up in somewhere around South California to save a shipping cost.

    Thanks

Do you have a Fry's nearby? They have the Onkyo TX-SR501 for sale for $199.99. It has everything you listed. That's a decent price for that receiver.

Thanks Bob for the recommendation. I would love to get that onkyo @ $199.99 but also Costco have JVC 6030VBR for $169.99. Which one is better? Is it okay to pair the Onky with 100W speaker (it's only rate at 60W per channel)?

BTW I'm still looking for any other offers [IMG]

    Thanks

I'd lean towards the Onkyo since I'm not familiar with the JVC. But you certainly can't beat Costco's return policies, in case you don't like it. Fry's returns can be a bit of a pain.
