Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the Mission m2s speaker system? Recently received these as part of an insurance settlement, and I'm wondering if they are any good. I have the option to return them and upgrade. Would also appreciate any input on which receiver would be best paired with them.

Thanks

Hey Paul:

I noticed you've asked this question a couple of times with no responses so I will try and help! I have never listened to mission stuff (so I am not the best one to respond) but I have heard they make decent gear. Here is a search I did on the forum you can use to learn about Mission stuff. It may help out, it may not.
Here is what I would do if I were you. Set up your system and spend some time listening to it. Then head out to a good dealer (ie not Best Buy) that sells high end audio stuff and ask them if you can listen to a couple HT systems in your price range. Then you can decide if your current mission setup does the job or not. If they are a good dealer you can ask them about your current speakers and they should be able to give you some honest advice. If they try and upsell you every step of the way go find a different dealer who will work with you.
Again, receivers are a personal choice and there is no right answer to a specific receiver working best with Mission speakers. There are LOTS of receiver that would work for you, some respected brands for you to check out are: Denon, Onkyo, Marantz, Yamaha, Pioneer and the list goes on. You have to figure out exactly what you are after, what your budget is, and if you want it to support future upgrades.
Hope this helps!

Thanks very much Aaron, that helps me out a lot...I understand that Denon is the North American distributor for Mission, so I imagine their receivers would be a good place to start.

I am keen to upgrade my receiver to take advantage of the higher quality speakers, plus I want to add a projector/TV combo, so being able to switch easily from one video output to the other is also key.

Regards,

Paul
