I'm considering buying an air conditioner (I'm on vacation this week and I won't be able to stand not having one). I'm expecting to pay around $100-$150. What brands are the best as far as reliability?

Amana ranked highly in the latest Consumer Reports rankings. Good luck finding even a tiny unit (5,000 BTU) for $100-$150 unless you're buying used.
