With the trend toward lighter weights, longer battery life and most of all, cheaper prices does anyone make a portable CD player that's solidly built and has good sound quality? I plan to use it at work primarily with a decent quality set of headphones and a headphone amp, so a line level output would be a big plus. An AM/FM tuner would be desirable too.
I picked up a Sony D-FJ401 CD Walkman at Best Buy and it was DOA (won't play CDs, but the radio works), plus being extremely light weight I wouldn't bet on it lasting a long time. I plan on taking it back tomorrow for another one but if someone could recommend a more reliable unit I'm all ears, er, eyes!
Thanks... KJP
