I hate these types of threads but this is really the best way to get a good non-tryin-to-sell-ya-somethin-boy-! opinion.

Don't go too far out of your way, but wondering if anyone had any suggestions off the top of their heads:

Video channel switching not my biggest concern..

Must haves:

Awesome sound (most important of all and relative so don't sweat it, just eliminating Futureshop models here)

DPLII

DD EX / DTS ES

High current

80Wpc or higher @ 8ohm

By reasonable, I mean I could afford the Marantz and not the McIntosh.

Looking for opinions...

The new Onkyo 600 and 700 may be a good choice, also the Sony 3es,Sony STR-DE985,Pioneer VSX-D811S,Yamaha HTR-5490, Yamaha HTR-5560,and Denon 2802. What is your max price. These hogs get expensive fast.
