Looking For A New Laptop (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to choose between getting a Sony laptop or an HP laptop. Feel free to reccomend any company though. My requirements are:

It must be no more than $1100.
At least 1 gig.
At least 125mb of RAM.
A DVD/Burner drive.

Im basically looking for the best deal, but it has to have these options on it. I have heard that Sony and HP are the "best", but this could be wrong. Please steer me in the right direction and give model numbers. Im in kinda of a hurry, I need this thing by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks.

A co-worker of mine had an HP laptop that literally melted down. He returned it and got a Toshiba instead.

I have had a Sony VAIO for over a year with zero problems.

Might want to check out a site called accessmicro.com and look into getting an X-book computer (the battery isn't built-in since most users plug into a wall anyway and you can buy the battery option as an extra). Though I have never seen one personally, I like the concept of it better and it seems to be cheaper too boot.
