What is the cheapest you've found, and we'll see if we can beat it!

well, i've been perusing ebay for a while and I've found some decent ones around $100 shipped. Although in great shape, they are still used and carry no warranty though. Just kinda looking around different areas for new or used ones

The Sherwood RD-7108 was recently available for $100.00 at outpost.com. It's currently available for $129.00 at J&R. Both cases brand new w/ 2 year factory warranty. The RD-7108 is a 6.1 HT receiver....go to Sherwood's website to see Sound & Vision's review of this receiver.

Jeff, I have the 5.1 version of the Sherwood RD-7108, the RD-6108 and it has proven to be a very good sounding and reliable receiver. The 7108 adds the center surround channel thus giving you DTS-ES and DD-EX capability. I highly recommend the 7108 based on the performance of my 6108.

I can second chucks comment, the 6108 is a great budget AVR and the 7108 for the price would be a great AVR for medium size rooms.
