I've been wanting to buy some DVDs from Europe for a while now,but don't know any good DVD players that won't mess up within a few months.

I was thinking of getting Philips DVD727 Progressive-Scan DVD Player because it seems fairly easy to use, but after reading a few of the reviews,I noticed that quite a few(though not alot) of the customers' player stopped working after a few months or so.

I don't want to get ripped off, so does anyone know a good multi region or region free player? I suppose I could always find a hack code for my current player.

I would highly recommend the Toshiba SD-4900. Cost is less than $90, with full 1 year parts and labor warranty. Very good picture quality. Has DVD-Audio. Does very good PAL to NTSC conversion. Out of the box it is partially region free, but you can download a simple hack online to make it region free (have to burn it to a CD-ROM). By far the best unit under $90 I've seen that does just about everything except SACD.

Go to www.DVDRhelp.com and search for Toshiba SD-4900 for info on the hack.
