I'm looking to buy a 12" sub for 75% home theater and 25% music. Budget about $250 or less. What do you guys recommend? I thought about these.

    1) BIC PL200 II

    2) BIC F12

    3) Dayton Audio 12"

    3) Premier Acoustics PA-150

I took a quick look and all of the candidates on your shortlist are highly reviewed on Amazon but, generally, with a caveat similar to "great for the price." Be careful. You alluded in a previous post that you already own a sub so I assume it is either damaged/dead or you're looking for better performance. If I'm correct then my advice is to wait until you can spend a bit more and consider this one, or maybe two of them.

The BIC F12 is actually pretty decent.

Thanks guys. This is to replace a 8" Sony sub in our family/TV room.

The RSL Speedwoofer gets great reviews, but I don't know if I want to spend that much.

    Any other recommendations ?

Just curious. Is there anything wrong with the Sony or are you just looking for better performance?

The BIC F12 or the Dayton 12" really seem to be the best choices in the under $400 range.
