Hey, guys,
I'm not often in the equipment areas of HTF, but I've been thinking about the long-neglected link in my system - the speakers. I wanted to get some recommendations specific to my setup.
I am currently using the speakers that came with my first 5.1 receiver, a Kenwood theater-in-a-box steup. The speakers do the job fairly well, but I've always been bugged by the fact that the left and right aren't matched to the center. The subwoofer is fine for my needs, so I don't really need to replace that, but I'd consider a package that includes one if the price is right.
My system is mostly used for watching movies and not a lot of critical listening. I'd really like a nice, balanced surround field with a decent match around the room, but I am looking for a low to mid buget solution, not a huge upgrade. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-915 which has connections for a 7.1 setup, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if I don't get the extra speakers right now.
