Hi,

New here. I need your recommendation for a projector that is small enough for me to carry with.

I saw a couple of discussions here for home use projector. Mine will be mainly for business use, e.g., presentation, spreadsheet sharing. I know the brightness is kind of important for me since I usually don't have the control over light. But how important the resolution is in this case? Is 720P HD good enough? Other parameters should I consider? Would like to hear from someone who has experience. Thanks!

I’ve used a number of Epson projectors, and they are nice and plenty bright, and reasonably small. I like the sliding door for the lens – allows for easy on-and-off if I decide to briefly use the whiteboard. I have an older model that only has S-video for its consumer-type connection, and the picture is plenty sharp from a computer using the analog VGA cable, so no reason to be hung-up on 720p. Any projector with component video or HDMI will have all the resolution you need, if not more. It’s not hard to find good used Epsons on ebay.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for your response!

I am not a big ebay fun :P. But I checked Epson on Amazon. It seems most of the models are larger than I want as well as beyond my budget, even the refurb ones. Not sure if you know about pico projectors, but I came across a couple of models on Amazon. Would like to hear from other folks, too.

Ah, so you’re looking for a piece of toast with a bright bulb. Sorry, I haven’t used any of those.

Not sure what you'd hear from the members here that you won’t get from hundreds of Amazon user reviews...

Folks here (or other enthusiast forums) aren't into pico-projectors, from my experience. I'd buy whatever is ranked highly on Amazon, while checking TheWirecutter and FakeSpot.

Hi, Thanks for your attention! I ended up getting the AAXA M5. The brand is not as big as Optoma or BenQ so the price is relatively fair. Also, they had some highly rated models in the past on Wirecutter or Projector Central. The size is perfect and it has a built-in battery! I just hope it can stand my frequent travel (since I break stuff all the time! :P

I was excited to get this new gadget and exploring every possibility. Realized I can use chromecast to mirror my phone! You guys should try it if you have all those components. All in all, appreciate your answer and will let you know my experience later!
