Location of Front Firing Vs Floor Firing Sub (1 Viewer)

I have read several threads on front firing vs floor firing subs as to which sound better. Based on what I have read I think it is a wash. Anyway, I wonder if anybody has compared the two types as far as room location and how it interacts with the room. It seems to me that floor firing subs would be more sensitive to room location but I don't know. Any input?

There is no difference between a front or down firing sub as long as the allignments are the same and the location results in the same room modes being excited. From my understanding of the subject, the differences in driver location that would result form the two arrangements would not be enough to change the room modes being excited.
