How's it going, guys? I plan on buying Live and a Linksys WET11 within the next two weeks but I have some questions that I've been dying to know the answers to. Hopefully, I can find some answers here, but if not, it's all gravy anyway.
First, I'm wondering how the lag is on Live with the WET11 while somebody is using the net on one of the networked PC's sharing the connection. Bad? Hardly noticible? I'm truely wondering about this more than anything, because knowing my household, there's somebody on the net a good amount of the time.
Another question is involving the reliability of the WET11. Is it rather problematic? Or is it pretty consistant throughout your gameplay?
That's all I'm wondering. I've seen a lot of talk about the WET11 on this forum, so I figured I'd ask here before anywhere else. Thanks guys, I appreciate any feedback. [IMG]

I picked up a Linksys wireless router and the WET11 last night. I haven't had a chance to test them out yet, but I'd be happy to provide you with feedback once I do.

    That sounds grand, Tim!

Although I dont have to use wireless in my setup, Im sure my homeboy Chris Gio (the Italiano Assassin) would be thrilled to find out that he will have great performance in his bedroom with the WLAN.

    I know he will too.

I would be curious about this as well... My PC is on the top floor of the house, as is the cable modem. My XBox is on the main floor. Cable is not an option... so I'm really curious to hear some feedback about the Linksys wireless components. [IMG]

Tim and Tony, I appreciate the feedback, guys! Man, I love this board. The maturity here is FAR above that of the old gaming board I used to attend for years.
Tony, my situation sounds almost exactly like yours, except I don't know if you have DSL or not. I have cable, but everything else you mentioned sounded just like my house's network.
So, hit me back with your impressions guys, I'll be looking forward to it! [IMG]

I use a WET11 Bridge, but not connected to my XBOX. I connected my PC to it, and I notice absolutely no slowdown or lag in any internet downloads, or online gameplay from my PC. If it's any slower, I can't tell.

    Hope that helps.

My WET11 is a mere 50 feet away from my Wireless Access Point/Router.

Thanks, Chris! I'm just hoping the same case scenario is with using the WET11 for my Xbox...

I'm on cable too Chris... so I'm really curious as to how well all this works. Especially between floors of the house. [IMG] Never used wireless equipment before... so I guess I wanna hear some folks sayin' positive things before I run out and buy it. [IMG]
(And I really appreciate the maturity level of HTF as well... [IMG] )

Yeah, GR is pretty bad. Pretty awful. Okay, very, incredibly horrible. But at least go there to see what I mean.

I got a chance to play XBox Live last night with my new wireless router and bridge and it worked great! Setup was a breeze and the connection was as good as wired. I noticed absolutely no difference. I didn't get a chance to try playing upstairs yet (computer is downstairs), but I plan on trying that tonight.

I've had nothing but smooth sailing with that exact combo on PS2, Cube and Xbox while my brother surfed the 'Net, DLing all sorts of things (we won't say what) without a hitch or hiccup.

    Definitely highly recommended.
