I had heard a rumor of it being released this Spring, anybody else?
I would imagine getting clearances from all the artists would be a bitch but just imagine how huge this would sell!!!

I heard back in 1985 that it would be coming to video soon.
Still waiting for that VHS release. I should have taped it back then![IMG]

I did tape it! All 15+ hrs of it. I was glued to the TV all day that Saturday and I didn't miss a minute. I still have that day imbedded in my memory. Phil Collins (when he was cool) jetting between England and Philly, Black Sabbath reuniting (the 1st time), Duran Duran blowing the place apart with "A View to A Kill" Wow!! That was some marathon session. I'm just pissed I didn't have a Hi-Fi VCR at the time. But a least I have it all.

I'm waiting for the "Monterey Pop" 3DVD set...just can't get excited about Live Aid.

I have an unofficial recording of the pre-live aid Dylan, with Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards...more entertaining just in the gossip they exchange !

That concert had bigger acts than any concert since.

It's who was big that wasn't there include Michael Jackson,Bruce Springsteen, Prince and I think that's it.

Oooh, this baby's legend! I'd love to have the full version on DVD if the rumors are true. Only question...who gets distribution rights?

-Paramount? (A lot of "Live Aid" was broadcast on MTV)

-Disney? (Then again, some of it was broadcast on ABC, too)

    -Anchor Bay? (See Disney)

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

    Sincerely,

John "Do they know we want this out at all?" Kilduff

Well put Craig_T. I agree entirely. Let's hope this does happen on DVD. Would be cool. I'd like to see The Who segment as we lost most of it in England due to some feed problem.

Colin, I'm going from memory here but, other than that voice "crack",the performance was "electric" IMHO. I remember my girfriend at the time turning the TV way up and dancing around the living room. On second thought, perhaps that's why I thought so much of that song. What was her name?...

I have most of this on Beta. Yikes.

    Best moments....

    1. Led Zep reunion (sort of)

    2. The emergence of U2

    3. Queen without a soundcheck

    4. Ozzy with Sabbath

    5. People in England singing along with the Beach Boys.

Did that 1985 concert end the hunger in Africa?

Wasn't it Queen's last performance together? I am not a big

Queen fan, but they were one of the standouts. Seeing a 100,000+ people clapping twice with their hands over the heads on "Radio GaGa" was incredible.

How about Sting with Mark Knopfler singing "I want my MTV" on "Money for Nothing".

    The Who were great.

The worst performance was Phil Collins sitting in with Tony Thompson and the remaining members of Led Zep.

Tony Thompson had it going on, but when Phil started playing it sounded like a train wreck. He kept doing this fill that had nothing to do with the song. They weren't playing together either. Uuugh.

If the Led Zepplin performance is the worst who knows.
But even if that may be true it is the 1st and last time the remaining 3 members played together on stage. And that's something special.[IMG]

Live Aid was not Queen's final performance. They would go on to do one last BIG world tour (The Magic Tour) and end it all at Knebworth, 1986.
