I enjoy some offbeat stuff, too. Keep it coming. At the very least, I'll throw some things into my cart basket as a reminder.

Here we go Asian tonight...

Tale of Two Sisters
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tale-Of-2-Sisters-Blu-ray/dp/B0015VI3CK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1385168800&sr=8-6&keywords=tale+of+two+sister (so much better than The Uninvited)

Kotoko (I'd add this movie every post...to prove a point. Horror fans, you haven't seen horror till you spun this disc. P.E.R.I.O.D.)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kotoko-Blu-ray-Cocco/dp/B008ACGLTO/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_9_A7JA?ie=UTF8&refRID=1EHWPTARA3JQ0QHC4A1Q (simple perfection...well, not simple...)

i'm a Cyborg
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Im-Cyborg-Blu-ray-Su-jeong-Lim/dp/B0015VI3DE/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_2_7XE1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1VPHF29PEH2X59ZVMFA8 (this is just good. Does Chan-Wook Park even have a bad movie?))

Those at HTF that like Cinemascope films of the fifties and especially Musicals should take a look at a new release from Network/Studio Canal.

"The Good Companions" (1957) is a most enjoyable British Musical.
Shot in CinemaScope and Technicolor, this disc is framed at 2.35:1 and is Anamorphic with mono sound (as was the case with nearly all british Scope movies)
The Movie has some catchy songs and several large production numbers.
Picture quality on the DVD is very good.

It has a good cast including Celia Johnson (Brief Encounter), Hugh Griffith (Ben Hur), John Fraser (El Cid), Janette Scott (Day of the Triffids), Rachel Roberts (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Joyce Grenfell and Eric Portman.

This J.B. Priestly novel had been filmed previously and it appeared much later as a stage musical.

It's no "Singin' in the Rain" but it's an enjoyable Widescreen Musical on a nice quality region B, Pal DVD.

This one's no great loss to the US & you guys might get it done properly one day.
The UK Tartan BD has only one extra, a behind-the-scenes featurette, in stark contrast to the extras-heavy DVDs.
Far more importantly though, it's a 1080i transfer & actually has less resolution than the DVDs, especially the region 3: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare11/a-tale-of-two-sisters.htm

Next month in the U. K. Dead Of Night is coming on BRD with very little publicity.

Dead Of Night 3.jpg

For such a famous and influential film I'd have expected more publicity.

Schan, could you also add film titles with the links? I mean don't get me wrong - it's fun that you add these titles, but in the end it's about the films, not Amazon links...

Part of the reason I don't is so you have to click the link.I suppose I could add some IMDB. But some cases I add the link instead so there is no confusion.

But why do I "have to" click the link? Does the Amazon give some commission for clicking these links or is it something like "find out what this mystery film is"?
