I'm trying to get some info how exactly to change the splash screen on this player. Is there a way to do this without having a Linux machine? The firmware update file is put out as an nrg file on Nero. Is there a way to open this up so I can repalce the logo file in there?

A utility called WINISO will open it and allow changed files to be reinserted. I used it to edit the flash file, changing the manufacturer number from 0 to 1. This is described in a thread on avsforum.

WINISO is available on a free trial basis at the usual download sites like TUCOWS.
