Does anyone know of a list of Skits which I should keep off the Carol Burnett and friends syndicated show?
I recently watched one of the Time Life Carol episodes and realized that one of the commercial parody skits was even edited of a commercial jingle of the time. But, it's intact on the broadcast version.
I just wish that TIME LIFE would have released then uncut..
So, I'm determined to record what I don't have off METV while I can.
ANY help?
Ideas?
A list would be amazing!
Thanks in advance, Rob

I have a list of every episode that MeTV is showing and what has and has not been released on DVD. Now, the list I have has been severely altered from the episode list that MeTV has on their website. This is mainly due to the fact that the Carol Burnett & Friends episodes take skits and guest stars from different original episodes. The series as it airs as Carol Burnett & Friends is a patchwork quilt of the original series. Episodes that were music heavy had the skits edited into an episode that had little music. While some episodes are as they aired originally just minus all of the music. Then some sketches were edited due to time constraints. Trying to figure it all out was a major pain in the butt. If you PM me with your email address I can send the list to you. Just so that you are aware, if you are able to reconstruct the Carol Burnett & Friends episodes into their original broadcast versions (minus the musical stuff), there are 35 episodes all together. There were around 8 or so sketches that I was not able to figure out what original episode they belonged to. There are three or four episodes from the original run of the show that did not have any sketches used on the Carol Burnett and Friends episodes. I used the left over sketches and made episodes to sort of fill in the gaps. Thus I ended up with 35 episodes that have not been released on DVD. Also, the MeTV airings only cover seasons 6-10. For some unknown reason they did not get the syndicated package that contained the additional 27 episodes that were put together from season 11.

Just out of curiosity, what commercial parody is edited on Time Life but not on Carol Burnett & Friends? The episode may have been released by Columbia House uncut but I would need to know what show it was from before I could compare.

One of my favorite movie parodies was "Flora" based on Laura- you haven't lived 'til you've seen Harvey Korman playing Clifton Webb! Steve Lawrence was Dana Andrews- and we ALL know who played Gene Tierney! Is it on DVD yet?

No. The Steve Lawrence episode with Flora has not been released on DVD. It is from the December 20, 1975 episode.

Ooops. You're right. It's on disc 8 of the Best of the Carol Burnett Show set. Sorry. I had it confused with another Steve Lawrence episode that hasn't been released.
